Destiny Chapel

Summary of Preaching from Rev. Moses Darko on Sunday 29 September 2013 at Destiny Chapel – Morning Service

2 Chronicles 20:20 (AMP)

And they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in the Lord your God and you shall be established; believe and remain steadfast to His prophets and you shall prosper.

The prophets of God, the true prophets of God, have been reluctant, because at times, they are ignored by God’s people, stoned, killed and generally dealt with very harshly.  Prophets are often not the centre of stage, basking in glory or having men’s approval.  They are the hidden heroes, not normally appreciated by society.  Most of God’s heroes are like this.  Ordinary people doing heroic exploits for God’s kingdom.

When God gives you something, it’s the way you receive and respect it which determines the way God operates in your life.

For instance, our Pastors are a gift to us from God.  We should, at the very least, listen to them!  We share in their anointing and the vision that God has given them for the body of Christ that is Destiny Chapel.  We should honour  them and greatly respect  them because they carry the word of God for our lives and a plan from God for us to prosper (2 Chronicles 20:20).

Hebrews 11: 1-3 (AMP)

11 Now faith is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].

2 For by [faith- trust and holy fervor born of faith] the men of old had divine testimony borne to them and obtained a good report.

3 By faith we understand that the worlds [during the successive ages] were framed (fashioned, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose) by the word of God, so that what we see was not made out of things which are visible.

The devil is diametrically opposed to faith.  He opposes the will of God in everything.  We must rise up and deal with the devil.

Mark 4:15 (AMP)

15 The ones along the path are those who have the Word sown [in their hearts], but when they hear, Satan comes at once and [by force] takes away the message which is sown in them.

The devil tries to snatch our assignment from God.

Verse 2:

There are two kinds of elderly people amongst believers:

  1. Those who fulfilled their destiny

  2. Those who did not.

To be a believer means we have salvation.  There are five foundational meanings to the word and concept of receiving “Salvation”:

  1. Healing – physical and spiritual

  2. Wisdom – supernatural knowledge

  3. Deliverance – from the devil and all his evil plans

  4. Forgiveness – through the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ

  5. Prosperity – God will meet all your needs as promised in His word

If you know God and believe you have salvation, you will do exploits.

Daniel 11: 32b

32 ………….. but the people who know their God shall prove themselves strong and shall stand firm and do exploits [for God].

In order to go forward in God’s plan for our lives we need to know where we are and what we need for the future.  We must “open our spiritual eyes”.

Our Pastor has a vision to go into the community and be an agent for change in South Ockendon.  The devil sees our dreams and wants to kill them.  A Christian is, and should be, a threat to the devil.

Following God, knowing who we are in Christ and have a vision from God for our life, brings about a peaceful home, a peaceful mind and your own fulfilled destiny.

Hebrews 11: 1

Faith is a thought in God’s mind put into words for you to understand.

Habakkuk 2:4

Look at the proud; his soul is not straight or right within him, but the [rigidly] just and the [uncompromisingly] righteous man shall live by his faith and in his faithfulness.

The just (uncompromisingly righteous) shall live by faith.  Believers live by the word of God.  But not all believers know His word.  Be confident.  Doubt is from the enemy.

Don’t waste time.  Be about your Father’s business

Pistis – faith (in greek)

Hiphil – belief (in Hebrew)

Standing by the thought of God .

We should grab hold of the word given us by God just like a bulldog.  A bulldog will grab a bone and even if we try to retrieve the bone, he will hold onto it tighter.  This is akin to the way we should hold on to the word of God for our lives.  Do not let the devil try and snatch it away from us.  Hold on more firmly when doubt creeps in.

Hebrews 11: 3

Notice “worlds” “were framed” and “what we see was not made out of things which are visible”.

“Worlds” means more than the world we know as the earth.  The worlds , -the atmosphere, community culture, the home , your environment, your dream – God is so much bigger than we can ever dream or imagine.  Every dream of God makes the world a better place.

“Were framed”.  “Framed” comes from the greek word “katartizo” which means

“to fit out, equip, put in order, arrange, adjust; the worlds”

In other words, “to alter an outward form” – that is – the worlds or, in our case, South Ockendon and Thurrock must be a better place because we are present. We must stand on the word of God and prophecy, live and activate the power in the word of God.
